Requirements to become a webcam model in Spain: age, ID verification and what you need
2026-10-31 · AmbarCams
If you're thinking about working as a webcam model from home, the first thing is to know what you'll be asked for. The good news is that the requirements are few and clear, and most of them are about your age, your identity and your safety.
This guide covers what cam platforms usually ask for, what you need ready at home, and the legal and privacy points worth knowing before you start. All the work is online: live chat and video on the platform.
1. Be over 18
It's the main requirement and there are no exceptions. Reputable platforms such as Stripchat only accept adults and check before you can stream. If anyone offers on-camera work to someone under 18, it's illegal and must be refused.
2. Verify your identity
To approve your model account, the platform will ask you to prove who you are. Usually that means uploading a valid official ID (Spanish DNI, NIE or passport) and a photo or selfie of you holding it. That information is for verification and payouts: viewers don't see it.
Each platform has its own process, so follow the instructions on the official site and never send your documents to anyone through other channels.
3. A payout method in your name
Platforms pay the verified person, so you'll need a payout method in your own name, such as a bank account or another option the platform offers. Check the payout options, schedule and minimum withdrawal on the platform itself before you start.
4. Basic equipment and a connection
You don't need a studio. A computer or phone with a good camera, a simple front light and a stable internet connection are enough to start, and you can upgrade bit by bit. We cover it in detail in our cam model setup guide.
5. A space and schedule that work for you
Choose a quiet corner with a background that shows nothing personal (photos, windows with recognisable views, letters or documents). Decide your hours and your limits from the start: you choose what you do in your shows and can change it whenever you like.
6. Privacy from day one
- Use a stage name with no link to your real name.
- Create an email address just for this work.
- Don't share your town, neighbourhood or where you study or work.
- Check the country-blocking options the platform offers.

7. Tax and obligations
What you earn as a webcam model is income and in Spain it must be declared. Depending on your situation, you may need to register as self-employed (autónoma). We explain it simply in webcam model taxes in Spain; for your own case, ask a gestoría or tax adviser.
What isn't a requirement
You don't need previous experience, a particular body type or to do explicit shows: many models focus on conversation, make-up or fitness. Nothing happens in person either: it's all online. And nobody can promise you a fixed income; what you earn depends on many factors, as we explain in myths and reality about what models earn.
