Calpe and online work: ideas for extra income in the low season
2026-10-24 · AmbarCams
When summer ends and the Peñón de Ifach goes quiet again, many people in Calpe find their seasonal work drying up. Restaurants cut staff, holiday flats sit empty and the winter months bring less income. If you live in Calpe, online work can help make up for that dip without leaving home.
There are lots of ways to earn something extra online. In this article we look at a few and focus on one that fits irregular schedules particularly well: webcam modelling, always online and for adults 18+ only.
Online work ideas for the low season
First, it helps to know that the options vary a lot depending on your skills:
- Language lessons or conversation practice by video call, making the most of Calpe's international community.
- Translation, copywriting or social media management for small businesses.
- Remote customer service.
- Live content creation, such as webcam modelling.
They all have one thing in common: you need consistency and your own schedule. What changes is the type of work and how flexible it is.
Why webcam modelling suits the low season
Webcam modelling doesn't depend on tourism in the area. Stripchat's audience is international, so viewers don't depend on whether Calpe is busy or empty. You can stream more hours in winter and fewer in summer, when you may have another job.
You also decide when you start and when you stop. There are no imposed shifts and no minimum hours. It is work you can combine with other jobs, as long as you respect your own limits and your rest.
It doesn't have to be explicit
Lots of people assume it is all explicit content, but it isn't. There are rooms for chatting, music, make-up, cooking or games. Some viewers just want a friendly conversation. Stripchat is an adult platform and some shows are explicit, but each model chooses what she is comfortable with and can change it at any time.
Privacy in a town where everyone knows everyone
Calpe is small out of season, and it's natural to want discretion. Before you start:
- Use a stage name and a separate email address.
- Block Spain or the Valencian Community in Stripchat's settings. Blocking works on the viewer's IP address, so it isn't 100% accurate (especially at region level) and a VPN can get around it.
- Set up a neutral background, with no windows showing the view and no personal items.
- Never share your phone number, personal social media or address.
Everything stays on the platform: there is no in-person contact and no contact outside it.
Plan your season
A practical tip: treat the low season as a project. Set fixed days and hours, try it for a few weeks and check how you feel. Income varies a lot with hours, consistency and audience, and it is usually modest at first while you build followers. Nobody can guarantee you an amount, so don't count on a specific figure for your fixed bills.
If the income becomes regular, ask an accountant about registering as self-employed (autónoma).
