Working from home in Dénia: how to earn money online with your webcam

What being a webcam model means

A webcam model streams live from home on a platform such as Stripchat. Viewers, who can be anywhere in the world, join your room, write in the chat and can send tips, request a private show or buy content. Everything happens online and on the platform: there is no in-person contact and no contact details are shared.

It doesn't have to be explicit. Many rooms are about chatting, music, make-up or simply company at the end of the day. Stripchat is an adult platform, and you decide what you do and don't do, and can change your limits whenever you like.

What you need to start at home

You don't need a studio or a big investment. The basics are:

• A laptop or phone with a camera.
• Good light: a window by day or a simple ring light.
• A stable internet connection.
• A quiet, tidy corner with nothing personal in view.
• Your ID, to verify that you are 18 or over.

That is enough for your first test streams, and you can upgrade later if you enjoy it.

Hours that fit your life in Dénia

One of the big advantages is that you set the schedule. You can stream in the morning, at night or only a few days a week. Stripchat's audience is international, so there are viewers online at almost any hour.

The key is consistency: a few fixed sessions a week usually work better than lots of random hours. That way your followers know when to find you.

Your privacy comes first

In a town like Dénia it is normal to worry about being recognised. That's why it pays to set up your privacy before your first stream:

• Choose a stage name that has nothing to do with your real name.
• Switch on country or region blocking in Stripchat, for example Spain or just the Valencian Community. Blocking works on the viewer's IP address, so it isn't 100% accurate (especially at region level) and a VPN can get around it.
• Use an email address only for this work.
• Keep windows, street views, letters and anything that identifies you out of shot.

No system is perfect, so the best protection is never showing personal details on camera. There are more tips in our anonymity guide.

How you get paid

Viewers pay the platform in tokens and Stripchat pays the model weekly by the method you choose, such as SEPA transfer. You never handle cash or charge anyone directly. What you earn depends on your hours, consistency and audience, and varies a lot from person to person: nobody can guarantee you a figure.

If the income becomes regular, in Spain you would normally register as self-employed (autónoma). Check with an accountant (gestoría) for your own situation.
