How to protect your anonymity as a webcam model in La Vila Joiosa
2026-10-24 · AmbarCams
La Vila Joiosa (Villajoyosa) is a town with a strong neighbourhood feel: the colourful houses of the old town, the harbour, the market. It's beautiful, but it is also the kind of place where people know each other by sight. If you live in La Vila and are thinking about working as a webcam model from home, it's natural that your first question is: how do I avoid being recognised?
This guide brings together the most useful steps to protect your anonymity. None is perfect on its own, but together they greatly reduce the risk. Remember: the work is 100% online and for adults 18+ only.
1. Choose a good stage name
Your stage name is your first layer of protection. Don't use your real name, a nickname, your middle name or the name of your street or pet. Search it online to make sure it isn't linked to any of your accounts. Always use it the same way and never mix it with your personal social media.
2. Block countries and regions on Stripchat
Stripchat lets you block whole countries and, in some countries such as Spain, specific regions as well. You can block all of Spain or just the Valencian Community, and add other countries where you have family or friends. Users in those areas won't be able to see your room.
Blocking works on the viewer's IP address, so it isn't 100% accurate (especially at region level) and a VPN can get around it. So this setting is a big help, but it does not replace the other steps.
3. Never share personal details
Don't say which town you live in, where you work or study, and don't drop hints such as the name of a bar, a beach or a local festival. Never share your phone number, personal social media or address, even if someone insists or offers bigger tips. Everything stays on the platform.
4. Watch your background and what can be heard
Check the frame before every stream:
- No windows with views of the sea, the harbour or recognisable buildings.
- Remove photos, letters, labelled parcels, uniforms and receipts.
- Watch out for sounds: church bells, announcements or festivals can give away where you are.
- Very visible tattoos or marks: consider covering them with make-up.
5. Separate email and phone
Create an email address only for this work and, if you can, use a different phone number for two-step verification. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Stripchat account and your email. That way, if someone discovers your stage name, they still can't reach your personal accounts.
6. Discreet payments
Stripchat pays weekly through methods such as SEPA transfer or e-wallets. Choose whichever is most convenient and discreet for you. Never accept payments outside the platform or gifts sent to your address: as well as breaking your anonymity, it exposes you to scams.
7. Watch out for photo metadata
Photos taken on a phone can store your GPS location. Turn off location in your camera settings or strip the metadata before uploading any image to your profile.

FAQ
Can I block just the Valencian Community?
Yes. Stripchat lets you block specific regions in some countries, such as Spain, as well as whole countries.
Is blocking foolproof?
No. Someone could use a VPN, which is why it should be combined with a stage name and never showing personal details.
Does my real name appear anywhere?
Your verification documents are not shown to viewers. Only your stage name is visible.
